Fill PDF form
Type into any fillable PDF form, then download it filled in or locked.
Open any fillable PDF (application forms, tax forms, contracts, registration sheets) and type straight into its fields. The answers go into the PDF’s own form fields, so it opens correctly in Adobe Reader, Preview and every browser.
How to fill a PDF form
- Choose a fillable PDF form.
- Click a field on the page and type, tick boxes and choose options.
- Click “Download filled PDF”. Tick “Flatten” first if the answers should be locked.
Frequently asked questions
What if my PDF has no fillable fields?
Scanned or flat PDFs have no form fields. Use Edit PDF to add text boxes anywhere on the page instead.
What does “Flatten” do?
It turns your answers into part of the page, so they can’t be changed and every viewer shows them identically. Leave it off if you might need to edit the form later.
Can I sign the form?
Yes. After downloading, open the PDF in Sign PDF to draw, type or upload your signature.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. ModifyPDF processes files with JavaScript inside your browser. Your documents never leave your device, and nothing is stored after you close the page.
Works with real form fields
Text boxes, checkboxes, radio buttons, drop-down lists and comb fields (one letter per box, as used for ID numbers) are all supported. A value typed into a field that appears several times in the form fills every copy.
Editable or locked
By default the filled PDF keeps its fields, so you or someone else can still change an answer. Tick “Flatten” to lock the answers into the page before sending it on.
